Alonda Rich Joins Forces with Hunny & Koko for Uplifting Children's Album "Chase The Happy"

At High Off Life, we love to see artists stretch their creativity, and Alonda Rich is doing just that with her latest collaboration on *Chase The Happy*, the debut children's album from the Hunny & Koko brand. This vibrant project blends catchy tunes with social-emotional learning themes, and even features a special guest appearance from Alonda’s 3-year-old daughter, Ciana.

We caught up with Alonda to learn more about her experience creating music for kids, the inspiration behind the album, and what it meant to involve her daughter in the process.

HIGH OFF LIFE ENT: First off—how did this collaboration with Hunny & Koko come to be?

ALONDA RICH: The founder of the Hunny & Koko brand is actually a longtime friend of mine. The characters and stories are inspired by her dogs and close friends. When she invited me to be part of their first album release, I was ecstatic—especially knowing how personal and meaningful this brand is to her.

HIGH OFF LIFE ENT: You’re known for your R&B and sync work. What inspired you to dive into children’s music?

ALONDA RICH: Being a mother of two girls, I’ve spent plenty of time exploring content that not only entertains but teaches. Knowing that *Chase The Happy* would be paired with SEL (Social-Emotional Learning) plans really resonated with me—not just as an artist, but as a mom.

HIGH OFF LIFE ENT: What was your approach to writing and recording for a younger audience?

ALONDA RICH: I kept the lyrics direct and digestible so they’d be easy for kids to understand and sing along with. In the booth, I literally smiled while recording to make sure my vocals felt warm, bright, and fun. I wanted the joy to come through the speakers.

HIGH OFF LIFE ENT: Let’s talk about the themes of the album.

ALONDA RICH: The whole album is like a tour through Whisker Woods—Hunny & Koko’s world. The songs highlight self-love, friendship, embracing our differences, and choosing joy. It’s a feel-good journey with a powerful message.

HIGH OFF LIFE ENT: We heard your daughter, Ciana, made her musical debut on the album!

ALONDA RICH: Yes! She’s a huge fan of Hunny & Koko’s books and YouTube content, and she’s naturally drawn to music. Her dad and I thought it would be a beautiful experience for her—not just to learn about how the studio works, but to be featured on an actual album alongside a brand she loves. She lights up every time she hears her voice on the track.

HIGH OFF LIFE ENT: What’s been the most rewarding part of the project?

ALONDA RICH: Honestly, including Ciana was the cherry on top. Hearing her little voice on the album and watching her face when it plays is unforgettable.

HIGH OFF LIFE ENT: How has the response been since release?

ALONDA RICH: It’s been amazing. The album landed on some Spotify Editorial playlists and even received some impressive press. One of the songs I co-wrote and performed on—“Good Day”—has become the most streamed track so far. It’s always cool to see what songs the audience connects with.

HIGH OFF LIFE ENT: Can we expect more children’s music from you?

ALONDA RICH: Absolutely. I’ve written a few unreleased songs based on milestones in Ciana’s life that I’d love to share one day. I’m also working on future projects with Hunny & Koko that I’m really excited about.
